Colin Kaepernick’s Uniform To Be Displayed In African American History Museum

Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is already being revered as an iconic historical figure via a new exhibit that well go up at the National Museum of African American History in Washington, D.C. according to USAToday.

Sociologist Harry Edwards began collecting Kaepernick swag last year and donated it all to the museum in hopes that #7 will be prominently displayed right next to another man who many would consider the GOAT of athlete activists:

“I said, ‘Don’t wait 50 years to try to get some memorabilia and so forth on Kaepernick,’ ” Edwards told USA TODAY Sports. “ ‘Let me give you a game jersey, some shoes, a picture … And it should be put right there alongside Muhammad Ali. He’s this generation’s Ali.’ ”

The exhibit is not up as of now, but the museum’s curator Damion Thomas says Kaepernick’s shrine will be integrated (no pun intended) into the rotation of historical pieces over the next year or two.

Congrats to Kaep!
